Thoughts About Dad
Every child should grow up believing that "my dad is the best dad in the world" What can I say about my father? Such a gentle man, with a soft infectious laugh, when he smiles his eyes sparkle, there is mischief there and yet - it is only in his eyes. Strong and kind hearted, generous, thoughtful, honourable. Taught me about respecting others, no matter who they are, what they are, or how old they are. Taught me about honesty and trust because he was always honest and trustworthy. Memories of Sundays listening to records, painting by numbers, doing crossword puzzles, sketching. Memories of gardens overflowing with flowers, and fresh vegetables for salads and stews. Memories of walks through the bushveld on fiery hot days, prospecting, exploring, climbing over rocks, discovering strange and unusual places. Memories of simple pleasures like a block of chocolate at bed-time, a surprise box of crayons, a new bicycle just for being good. So many simple easy memories. Life with dad was uncomplicated but wonderful. Yes I truly can say in my eyes - my dad is the best dad in the world.
My daughters have been blessed to also be able to say that they too have a very special, loving and giving father - Every child should have one. - PCArt
